NSH Managed Care works to develop long term managed care contracting partnerships and revenue enhancement strategies with commercial insurance companies, HMOs, employer groups, and government insurance organizations to include Medicare and Medicaid.

The Managed Care team at NSH provides a variety of expert managed care consulting services that employ proven strategies and tools. The team is responsible for managing the contracting process from receipt to implementation for new and renewal contracts, and has extensive experience and expertise assisting hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers with their managed care needs including: market assessments, strategy development, portfolio analysis, payor negotiations, contract modeling and analysis, language review, payer audits, and revenue capture.

Carl Ericson, Vice President, Managed Care

Carl R. Ericson is the Vice President of Managed Care at NSH with responsibility for the coordination of managed care policies, goals, and objectives related to contract language and rate pricing, negotiation strategy, planning and execution, revenue reconciliation and payor relationship management Prior to joining NSH, Mr. Ericson spent 13 years as Vice President of Managed Care at MedCath, Inc., a nationally acclaimed healthcare provider focused on the diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular disease. As Vice President of Managed Care, Mr. Ericson was responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for MedCath's private and public managed care contracting initiatives. Prior to joining MedCath, he was the Executive Director and Vice President of Sales for United HealthCare of North Carolina. Mr. Ericson began his career at Aetna Life & Casualty where he held various management positions in managed care network development, sales, marketing, product development and underwriting.
